John Redmond represents physicians, hospitals, nursing homes, and other health providers in medical malpractice cases throughout Virginia. A native of Virginia Beach, Mr. Redmond began his trial practice in California in 1985 and has since litigated cases with a wide variety of medical issues, including the following: birth injuries, infant death, fetal anomalies, myocardial infarctions, emergency medicine, thoracic aortic dissections, joint replacement, spine surgery, paralysis, foot drop, subdural hematoma, psychiatric misdiagnosis, psychologic mistreatment, patient suicide, sepsis, laparoscopic cholecystectomy, hysterectomy injuries, fractures, Crohn’s disease, radiographic image misdiagnosis, ulcerative colitis, weight loss medication litigation, intravenous extravasation, vascular surgery injury, cataract and other ophthalmologic surgery, infant and toddler meningitis, nursing home injury and death, decubitus lesions, cervical cancer, bone cancer, lung cancer, uterine cancer, testicular cancer, breast cancer, colon cancer, peripheral neuropathy, nursing malpractice, lab technician malpractice, gastric bypass surgery, necrotizing fasciitis, facial nerve injury, blastomycosis pneumonia, aspergillosis pneumonia, flexible sigmoidoscopy, colonoscopy, brain aneurism, sterilization, barium enema examination, necrotizing enterocolitis, rhinoplasty, mammoplasty, drug reaction, physiatry malpractice, forceps delivery, bladder perforation, shoulder arthroscopy, knee arthroscopy, Ludwig’s angina, failure to properly interpret pathology slides, and failure to diagnose HIV.

Mr. Redmond has represented physicians of virtually every specialty including emergency physicians, obstetricians, gynecologists, general surgeons, vascular surgeons, orthopaedic surgeons, neurosurgeons, neuroradiologists, radiologists, family practice physicians, internists, psychiatrists, psychologists, cardiologists, cardiac surgeons, pathologists, plastic surgeons, fertility specialists, endocrinologists, urologists, anesthesiologists, ophthalmologists, otolaryngologists, oncologists, rehabilitation physicians, and physiatrists. He has also represented hospitals and nursing homes and their personnel; including emergency, labor and delivery nurses, nursing home nurses, lab technicians, nurse anesthetists, and cardiac rehabilitation nurses.

In addition, Mr. Redmond has represented physicians under investigation by the Virginia Department of Health Professions and other state agencies.

Mr. Redmond has obtained defense verdicts throughout the Commonwealth in cases involving grave injuries and death, including but not limited to, misdiagnosis and treatment of breast cancer, infant meningitis, and misidentification and severing of nerves.

Mr. Redmond also has significant experience defending prominent lawyers and law firms in legal malpractice cases, including personal injury lawyers, lawyers engaging in large corporate transactions in real estate sales and leasing, business stock purchases, and business separation agreements. Clients included insureds of St. Paul Fire and Marine Insurance and American National Lawyers Reciprocal.

Mr. Redmond also has limited experience in accounting, engineering, and other professional negligence representation.

Although concentrating in Virginia practice, Mr. Redmond maintains his licenses to practice in California and the District of Columbia.
