Kimberly W. Daniel is a director in the Central Virginia office of Hancock, Daniel, Johnson & Nagle, P.C. She specializes in all types of employment law and medical staff issues. Specifically, she provides advice on issues such as employee policies and procedures, employee compensation, overtime, leaves and discipline, employment contracts, covenants not to compete, handbooks, federal contractor obligations, separation agreements, and severance plans. She handles internal investigations as well as federal and state litigation for all varieties of employment law matters including discrimination and related claims pursuant to Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the FMLA, ADA, ADEA, FLSA, and OSHA. She also advises clients regarding medical staff issues including accreditation requirements, credentialing policies and procedures, medical staff bylaws and rules and regulations, peer review disputes, investigations, and hearings, and state and federal reporting requirements. She is a Certified Professional in Medical Services Management.

Previously she was a partner in the law firm of Troutman Sanders, L.L.P., in Richmond, Virginia. Before going into private practice, she was a law clerk to the Honorable James R. Spencer, United States District Judge for the Eastern District of Virginia (Richmond Division).

Ms. Daniel has lectured on topics such as the Americans with Disability Act, military leave, the Family and Medical Leave Act, anti-harassment laws, HR Audits, and avoiding the legal pitfalls in hiring, discipline, and discharge. She has achieved Martindale-Hubbell’s highest rating for legal ability and ethical standards and has been recognized as one of Virginia's Legal Elite in 2005, 2006 and 2007. In 2007 she was also selected as a Virginia Super Lawyer in the practice area of labor and employment law.
