As a director in the firm, Michael Olszewskis practice is primarily directed to the representation of healthcare
providers in the defense of professional liability litigation. Clients of Mr. Olszewski include community hospitals, nursing
homes, nurses, physician groups, and physicians in a wide variety of specialties. Mr. Olszewski has extensive experience in
defending healthcare providers in professional liability litigation throughout Virginia, Maryland, and the District of
Columbia.

Mr. Olszewski has represented hospitals, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and psychiatric/addiction treatment
facilities. He has represented physicians in the following specialties: anesthesiology, cardiology, dentistry, emergency
medicine, family practice, general surgery, infectious disease, internal medicine, obstetrics & gynecology, orthopaedic
surgery, otolaryngology, pediatrics, physiatry, psychiatry, radiation oncology, and urology. He has also represented nurses
in the following specialties: anesthesiology, emergency department, ICU, maternal-fetal units,
medical surgical floor, nursing home, psychiatric unit, radiology, and telemetry.
In addition to trial advocacy, Mr. Olszewski provides risk management and general healthcare law counsel to his clients.
Mr. Olszewski earned his B.A. in government and politics, cum laude, from George Mason University and his J.D., cum laude,
from The Catholic University of America, Columbus School of Law. He was a staff member of the Journal of Contemporary
Health Law and Policy for a year.
Mr. Olszewski's reported cases include: Wright v. Kaye, 267 Va. 510, 593 S.E. 2d 307 (2004);
Stottlemyer v. Ghramm, 268 Va. 7, 587 S.E.2d 191 (2004); and Cooper v. Adler, 44 Va.App. 268, 604 S.E.2d 747 (Va. 2004).
Mr. Olszewski is a member of the Virginia, Maryland, West Virginia and District of Columbia Bars; the Virginia
Association of Defense Attorneys (member, Medical Malpractice Section), the American Health Lawyers Association, and
the Defense Research Institute. He is also a member of the Board of Visitors at the Ave Maria School of Law.
