4701 Cox RoadKarah Gunther is an associate in the firm’s government relations group. Her practice focuses on legislative lobbying in the Virginia General Assembly, as well as representation of healthcare providers before the Virginia Health Regulatory Boards.
Ms. Gunther earned her juris doctorate from Washington and Lee University School of Law, where she graduated magna cum laude and served as a pupil in the Ted Dalton American Inn of Court. While in law school, she also served as Vice President of the Health Law Association.
Ms. Gunther also holds a Masters in Health Administration from the Medical College of Virginia at Virginia Commonwealth University. In achieving her MHA, Ms. Gunther interned with the Virginia Hospital and Health Care Association which included shadowing the Association’s lobbying activities at the Virginia General Assembly. Subsequently Ms. Gunther completed an internship with Augusta Health in Fishersville, Virginia.
While pursing her college degree, Ms. Gunther worked at Hancock, Daniel, Johnson and Nagle, P.C. for four years as an office assistant in the medical malpractice litigation section where she participated in the preparation of cases for jury trials.
After college and prior to pursing her law degree, Ms. Gunther worked in the Washington, D.C. office of the American Association for Justice, formerly the Association of Trial Lawyers of America, in their membership department. While serving in this position, Ms. Gunther assisted with and attended Capitol Hill Congressional visits by members of the Association.
